Me and my partner Buddy aka " The mountain climbing Aussie" bagged Waumbec yesterday. Just a beautiful day all around. I was amazed at the lack of snow, snowshoes would be a complete waist to carry. Even the connecting ridge had little, looks like about 4 to 5 inches fresh on the the ridge. There is however plenty of ice and while I barebooted all the way up, I chose crampons for the descent. Thanks to the group who found my hat and carried up to me on the ridge!

I expect you had great views and warm temps as it was really nice just down the road at my place. Were there any Gray Jays visiting?

No jays and to be honest, I have not run into any for awhile. Kind of miss them now that you mention them.

They don't particularly care for dogs.

I will second this. Since hiking with Marlie, my gray jay feeding days have all but come to an end. The closest I have come is to have them watching me from about 8 feet up on a tree brach while on the summit of Mt Tom.
