What is the 'easiest' 4000 footer in NH?

I would have recommended Moosilauke, via the carriage road. Pierce was a great choice, as are Hale or Tecumseh. Personally, I like Tecumseh the best of the lot for the wooded and uncrowded summit.

did you say mother or mother-in-law? if the latter, i'd take her up huntington ravine to washington and then back DOWN huntington for a little sidetrip up king ravine to adams (not missin' the chance to squeeze her through the subway) and down chemin des dames. then take her over to the link trail on the west side of jefferson. after these easy hikes treat her to a night at lowe's cabins. :D :D :D :D

or better still--talk post'rboy into taking you and her on one of his li'l jaunts! (HEEHEE!!)
