What is your favorite season to hike in?

Whatever season it currently is. I just love to hike
Right now the coast is looking good. No bugs, no tourists, and no mud.

I've been out bike riding in the woods, and I did realize one thing that I like about summer that you don't get in the winter...

Birdsong.

The winter is so darned quiet, with just the sound of the wind through the trees. The summer modifies that with the leaves, but it's really the chirps, the tweets, and the trills that help the forest seem more awake and alive.

Local (Syracuse): Spring... love to see the signs of Mother Nature waking up... before the bugs wake up.

Mountains: Autumn... good weather and no bugs

Winter! No bugs, no mud, no bears bags, smooth trails, much much less traffic, water everywhere, automatic cooling system, open tent, and cool gear.
