East Branch hydrograph has dropped nicely from peak just over 3000 cfs around Friday noon to just over 1000 cfs around Saturday noon, so most stream crossings should be fine by Sunday morning. But, will bring the Crocs for hike tomorrow just in case.
I was happy to find this morning that there was no snow that had to be dealt with on the Kanc.
On the Kinsmans the snow line started around 2500'. The ridge had about 3". It snowed a bit while we were up on the ridge.
The three streams on the Mt. Kinsman trail were high and it took some figuring to cross, but they were doable although Lauky did go for a swim on the first crossing.
Franconia Ridge and Cannon had snow dusting their peaks as I drove down through the notch today at 8 am. The bridge north of Cannon was slick and one person had slammed a car into the guardrail on the southbound side. My car's Outside Temp gage read 33 degrees.
Mt Horrid through to the Middlebury Gap today had snow in most places, still sticking above 3000 feet, and muddier than Vermont hell in between summits. Bring traction, your winter boots and about ten extra pairs of socks.
