Which hiking season is your drug of choice?

I have more than one favorite: summer because it's warm and I'm not working so I have more time to hike, and autumn because it's so beautiful and the bugs are gone! But a New Years Day hike is always special too. I just can't decide!

In the winter I long for summer.
In the summer I long for winter.

During the three years I lived in Hawaii I was really confused.

I find that nowadays I have much more time to hike in the winter because of the many summer projects on my mountainside. My vinyard, hobby cars, home property trail work, an acre of lawn, fly fishing, skirt chasing and sitting on the deck watching the sun come up and go down. I'm am also working on my long time dream: A two bedroom house and a six car garage. Got the house, the garage is in the works

Most of my hiking is done during my vacations in August and September, so I had to vote for "summer."
