Thanks isn't enough....

David: you have done a wonderful job with your website. It is a valuable and credible source of info for hiking the whites. I now live in Illinois and a year or so while recovering from a serious back issue, I used your site and its great trip reports to vicariously "relive" those beloved White Mt. Trails. You helped me heal and now I'm back on the trails but always planning my next trip to the "Whites". Thanks for a great source. You are a good man...

Thanks, Dave

Thanks for a quality site. You certainly do give back to the NE hiking community.

Ed

Thanks

Dave,
I have never met you, but I am a fellow White Mtn lover. I have used your site to plan hikes, and read your trip reports to live vicariously through your words when I could'nt get out into the woods. I have already bookmarked the new site. Thanks again

Well, as a FOD, and as one who's hiking of the NE 4000ers is well-documented on Dave's site, it is gratifying to see how many folks appreciate all the work Dave has done. And I agree, Dave writes with a unique tone--and I think it goes a long way to help folks feel comfortable with the advice he gives (not to mention the little velcro brain he has for various and sundry facts about the all things hiking (and non-hiking) related). Not to mention his terrific photography--it's a big feature of the site, IMO.

Kudos my friend! And here's to another great decade on Hike the Whites! :D

P.S. Ah, you let that sentimentality slip there--way to get the old heart going! :p

Thanks Dave,

Like what Barbarossa (Nab Baby) wrote I found your site right around the time I was getting back into hiking and it got me going. The photos and trip reports were great. But what really helped is the all info on the modern do's and don'ts in hiking now in one area. A great site and a lot of help.

Chuck

Yes: Thank you very much!

Dave,

Your site has indeed helped me plan and execute trips.

And you have also answered queries I've posted here in preparing for trips.

And your contributions here in answer to others' questions have helped out.

And you seem to be a font of all kinds of information, both minute and grand.

And you seem to have figured out HTML, putting together a really interesting and valuable site.

And, from what I can tell, you seem to be a hell of a guy. Even as a Dartmouth man. Insert effeminate winky icon here.

Thanks again for all these, and I wish you continued good karma!

Dave, next time you are trying to give me a heart attack, warn me first please.

As others have said, yours is the mac daddy of northeast hiking info sites. Period. I thank you for your many tireless hours of devotion to your site and to the hiking community.

Ok, my heart is back to normal...

Dave you have done a teriffic job with your website. I have enjoyed getting "sneak peak" at what the summit may look like as well as the trails. When I was on my last hike I said to my friends "I think the picture Dave Metsky took of the summit is far ahead". Thank you so much a green square for 'ya.

I'll chime in too-I used your site for my very first camping trip to the whites years ago. Thanks for keeping the info, I would have hated to see it go. :)

I'll just ditto what many have already said Dave! IN the hustle and bustle of everyday, i know i don;t say thank's enough to those of you that take the time to pass so much information and knowledge along.

You've been a great help to me on a numerous occasions on both your site and board... A very hearty THANK YOU!!

Yes, please warn us next time, addiction is a terrible thing:)

As of this morning, the old Dartmouth URL redirects you to Hike The Whites. The die is cast.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, it makes it all worth while.

So now we know who to blame for the crowds on the mountains! :D
