Very Cool. Congratulations!

Retrospectively, leaving Whiteface for the 46th is such a great way to celebrate. Having your family and friends there to suprize you is priceless... especially a 90+ great grandmother.

Very special what you did together. You'll always have it to share, and better yet be a better family cause you did. I'm thinking I know where you celebrated... very cool, too. Let's get together and celebrate on the west end of the state.

Tim, it was great to meet you and your family and to be part of your celebration. Congratulations to all of you!

Congratulations

Great trip report! I have enjoyed reading your reports and also your website. They are truly inspiring. Although I have never met you and your family I feel I know you from these reports. I hope to met you all in person someday. Again Congratulations to your family.

Great family finish! My family would never be able to agree what mountain to finish together on. I then would be sent to my room and grounded. I used your web site as a tool several times for my hikes. The best was one time I was hiking up to the Bradley Pond area. I took a rest by this large boulder and a stream, and enjoyed the pleasantness of the moment. I took out directions from your website, and you wrote that there was a good place to take a rest by the stream. Describing the spot I was at. I just thought that was the funniest. And I swore I saw your family climbing Giant in june of this year. I'm glad the family got to spend so much quality time together in the woods.

Thank you

Pictures are up and can be viewed -HERE- (feel free to add comments to the pictures pages, we like em :))

I cannot thank you enough for your well wishes and kind words, they mean quite a bit to us.

What's next?

For me. Don't know. On my last few bushwhacks, I've got that special feeling that I used to only get on open summits. You know the one ;). It's not so much that I enjoy playing lemon squeezee with my sizable 190# frame and thick ADK 2nd growth. But, there is something bout looking down and seeing...........well nothing, no footprints, nothing that is just, exhilarating. (some of you know what I mean, right). 100 highest perhaps.

One list that will be mandatory to do some of is Pete Hickey's 46er Annual Maintenance days. Time to start making deposits instead of withdrawals.

The Kids. Well we told then we'd give them a special trip to celebrate their hard work and perseverance. My daughter screamed Disney. My son looked me in the eye and said. COLORADO, Mt. Elbert and Massive (both 14ers). I think I've created a monster.

One mountain is for sure and soon, Kah-tah-deen (as they say in the old country ;)). Via the knife-edge, is there any other route?

Thanks again.

Awesome Report

This is a very touching Story. Your kids must really feel proud of what they've accomplished. I think that is so Cool to have a family become 46ers together. And with both kids not even Teenagers yet.

NICE GOING!!!

There was recently an article in the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle on our quest. It was pretty cool of them to run the story.

The online version can be read -HERE-

Enjoy

Awesome article ..... that's great! Thanks for posting the link. And congratulations once again!

Thanx for the heads up on the D&C article, Tim! An unusually well-told story for the tired old Demogogue&Comical. You all must be Henrietta Hometown Heroes now, for sure. The kids' classmates must be very envious!

That was very nice of Gary to write that article. :D

He was quite a climber years ago, and is getting back into it now.
He's done alot for my buddies gear shop here in town.
A real nice guy! :)

Congratulations!

Tim,

I cant imagine why it has taken me so long to read your trip report of Whiteface (#46). It wasn't long after we climbed Avalanche together with Peak_bagr and the boys.
Anyway I'd like to congratulate you, Katie,Nick and Ashley on an awesome achievement.
You knitted the whole family into one heck of a hiking unit.
Well Done!! :D :D :D
