Hi Neil,

I do not know when I will be heading up. I will be hiking with 2 kids that are more out of shape than me I do not think they will be able to go all the way up to Whiteface. I hope to make it to the first hairpin turn and check out the bushwack from the highway to marble for a hike in March. How do you plan on going to Esther?

Thank you for your reply. I parked at the gate last year on a try for Esther but after the hike I got thinking; Was it OK to park at the gate?

Mark - I also always have parked at the gate in winter (just a little bit back and to the side though.) Odds are there will be other cars there as well.
