12/3 12/4 Wild River Trail to Carter Notch hut

trail had 3 small blowdowns, condition was crunchy with thin layer of mud frosted over in many spots. water runs little high with a few tougher crossings where boulders have thin layer of ice - this makes rockhopping an interesting experience.traction not necessary. only a dusting of snow in some spots.

The Bog Brook Trail had the same conditions yesterday with the same sort of "interesting" water crossings, on the way to Perkins Notch.

Yeah. We took the Bog Brook up and the crossings were pretty hairy. We took the road on the way down.
