NWS forecast for NH 2/18-19:

At this time... there is the potential for more than 6 inches of
storm total snowfall for the entire region... with significantly
more
possible across central New Hampshire and interior sections
of western and central Maine.

Do the VFTT weather pundits agree? (I need to know how much gas to buy for the snowthrower.)

That's what I've heard too...in Maine.

Get that Gas...and rev up those snowshoes...hey, someone has to break out those trails (oh...we're heading to Madison or Old Speck NEXT Sunday...yes, that is a hint:D)

Its past due to cover up this hard, dirty stuff that's been masquerading as snow here in S. NH. Better yet, I'm finally getting out skiing next week and two weeks after. Bring it on!

Snowfall Model Forecast usually over estimates by a "little" but is still somewhat usefull. The models are still a little uncertain on the how far north the rain snow line will go. I'm trying to push it south!

A clipper will try to strengthen off the coast on Sunday, also worth watching.

Warnings up for 8-12 from Central NH through the Whites and into Maine. Because of combination of upslope in the Whites and the upper level low Thursday adding to this, I think the Whites and Maine mountains will see up 18 inches. By the way, do not think there will be much in the way of rain for central NH, so I wouldn't worry about it. The models have trended much colder with this system. About time we got more snow, been far too long.

Pack computer to work from home Thursday... check.

Make a run on the milk and bread section at Market Basket... check. :D

Yeehah! We could definitely use some fresh, and the timing couldn't be better.

Sabrina, be careful with your travel planning if you're going to make a run north... looks like this is going to crank up in the evening hours tonight and go hard all night... driving in the AM could be really awful.

I hope so -- I'd rather clear snow with more snow tomorrow morning than snow with rain...aka "slush"...

Just got back from FL to this rather rude event. Less than 1/2" in N NJ (after 6 hours), and it's probably turning to rain.

Starting snowing just north of Concord at about 6pm, and was snowing heavily in Tilton at 7pm. There were about half a dozen cars off the road on 93 North between Tilton and Campton (though honestly, the roads weren't that bad, yet anyway).

27 degrees and snowing moderately in Waterville Valley at 8pm, with about an inch down so far.

At 6:30 AM Thursday looks like 2-3" on the ground, just a few flurries in the air ... where are the 8-12" or so predicted :(

How are things higher up (e.g. Waterville Valley)?

Kind of a fizzle up here, too, Mohamed... I would say there are about 4-5" on the ground, though Waterville Valley resort is reporting 7" new snow up on Tecumseh. It looks quite light and fluffy, at least -- so it doesn't seem like there was any mixed precip overnight.

It's still snowing lightly and the NWS is calling for another 1-3" today, with scattered snowshowers lingering in the mountains this evening.

No 8 to 12", but I guess I will take it -- it ought to help freshen the slopes up a bit. Sabrina, the local schools up this way went with a two-hour delay, which is usually a quality indicator that the roads aren't good but will be better later.

Probably a good half a foot here in Tamworth. Drove back from MA in the middle of this last night - 40 mph advisory on 93 last night with traffic going about 30. Top layer of snow looks to be quite fluffy.

"Get out now while you can." Raining lightly here south of you, on top of 4-5 inches of new wet snow. Today will probably be the most "interesting" waxing challenge of the winter.
