I wonder if the OP could duplicate this hike and time? I think it would be a great challenge, considering how much OLDER they are now.

And could be done a good chunk faster with one vehicle, a driver for the Abe/Ellen traverse, perfect weather & trail conditions, not stopping in Stowe for coffee, etc., etc.

Too funny that this thread was revived after 5 years. I would be up for another round of this. It was a hoot! Older is wiser, and we would do things a little different the next time as Stinkyfeet pointed out.

Gillian, I haven't hiked with Sir Edmund in over a year, so yes, I would also be "shocked"
