Returning from Hale on Sat 12/22 late afternoon the road was well broken past Hale Brook trailhead. My guess is that the majority of those tracks go all the way to the hut.

Looks like we will have rain followed by deep freeze, that may well make the whole road an icy mess (Sunday highs around 40, Monday night lows around 18).
