  • 6:30 would be much better, trail is broken, so if there is no new snow, shouldn't be all that bad, just drift to deal with.
Rob, 5:30AM start??? 7:00am is a good start for this. If you change your start time let me know, 5:30am is too early for me. Thanks - Cindy
Rob, is that Saturday?? If so, count me in. I want to go to RPR first as that is the one I need, Giant is a bonus if conditions are good. What time and what trailhead, Rt 73??? Anyone else hiking it?? Thanks for the invite. Rik and I hiked LWJ today, lots of new snow, over a foot up high, good hike with only the two of us breaking trail all the way all day.

hey! thanks for the shout out. winter has been good. climbing more than hiking. i need to hike more. gotta train gotta train.
A priest!!! lmfao cindy......Now thats comedy...hey wanna hit RRp/Giant onthe 7th with me and buudy ??
guess we may do giant/RRP now...I missed RRP in the late fall/before winter hike last yr. due to Ice..
I won't be able to make it the 7th. It does not look like I will make it back up until the first weekend in March.
well its the foothills......I think...its about the group having the best time, not a foot race as some things do happen...."smell the roses" right!! iI too would like to try that hammock deal..email me more on it...k
OK, sounds like a plan. I'll probably just bring a tarp and my hammock, my preferred way of sleeping. I just got a new book on ultralight backpacking, so I think I'm going to try out some of the suggestions in that book! But if we did meet up and divvied up the gear, it'd be more balanced.

Oh, and it's the Adirondacks...I'm sure it won't rain ;)
I'm fine with 16, it's just going to be less of a tame hike and more of a lets move fast hike. Most I've done in a day was 20, and that was pretty long! I did 14 miles on day on the Northville-Placid, and that took about 8 hours at a "leisurely" pace, as I recall. 12.5 would also be fine, if we did 4 days.
tyler...i think so myself too, but is flatter ground to cover..nor sure myself but 4 should do it, thats what i think is needed
