What is the parking situation at this crossing? I'd like to leave my car there for a few days while I backpack. Is there a decent lot off the road? Any concerns other than the usual "don't leave valuables in the car"?

As far as I know, Kelly Stand Road is still dirt, plowed in winter only from the east, and not from the Arlington side. Big parking lot at the AT crossing.

No concerns that I am aware of.

The AT junction east of Stratton *MAINE* has an average sized lot off the main road. Doubt you'd run into car break-in troubles if you take the normal precautions. They're cool up there.

As Albee pointed out, this isn't Maine.

Peaks' answer refers to Stratton VERMONT. Kelly Stand (aka Arlington West Wardsboro Road) is now paved between route 100 and Grout Pond access. It is driveable all the way through. As Peaks notes, it is plowed only to the large parking area at the AT/LT TH from the east in the winter.

There's a decent, good-sized lot right where the AT crosses route 16/27 (ayup, Maine). We left cars there for a couple days when we did the Bigelows and there were no problems. I haven't heard of issues there, either.

For that matter, I've never had a problem or seen broken window glass in any trail parking lot in Maine, ever.

Now the roads, well . . . :D

(Lots of parking available, especially on the Stratton Brook Pond road where the AT crosses it.)
