You're Welcome!

Just back from Maine: never made it to the Gulf, but spent 2 blissful days lounging at the beach and kayaking.

Sitting here with Gris on our way to Arm's on our way to Gathering of the Vibes... I'll never recover from this vacation. So, how was BL '08? I think I missed it  Must have been the fumes eminating from the gazebo

Sweet time having everyone up! Saturday's music was recorded and I will eventually have it available. Wasn't CHROMA fantastic? They would love to return next year, and we hope to have them.

All I can say is it was a blast, I'm glad it's over, and thanks for everyone who came: the rest of you are idiots ;). Let the planning for BL '09 start on Monday!

Incredible

in so many ways. Don't know how the man does it. Twas a LOT of work pulling this off. As hard as it was for me, Sherp did three times as much. So, give it up good if you want it again. And also sound off if you want me to bring my homeboys (Chroma) back next year, they also travelled a looong way to party... :D

Yes, I need to thank a few folks (and I'll miss some...):
The Bluffs: for putting up with me all this time (some will see me for 4 weekends in a row  )
CHROMA: for rocking out, and giving us hope that the next generation are not just a bunch of deadbeats :D You have an open invitation to "Camp Someplace Elle's". I hope you take us up on that!
Elle: for making this a fantastic weekend for all of us.
FunkyFreddy and Gail: for feeling like my co-hosts! You did so many things for me that no one else will ever know.
Otter, Joe Farren and Joe Rego: great playing! We want you back!
MtnPa: for teaching me a few KISS tricks. You are the reason we sounded so good on Saturday!
Ash: for the T-shirt art and stage management! (Well, Saturday seemed "clearer" ;) )
HuiYeng: for the graphics work!
Arm: we know EVERYTHING that you did to make our lives easy. Lending your car, home, culinary delights, and just being a great friend! Now, please TURN IT UP!
Mike Holt: thanks for "going the extra miles" to chauffeur our stage manager and former prospective beau to the event.
Chomp: for getting CHROMA back to the airport on time ;)
Ed and Dorothy: You guys flat out rock!
Paul, Lorraine, Dan, Leslie: for the Tiki bar, security, and backstage fun!
Metsky: for the beautiful bowl, and the pictures to come! As usual, I expect the unedited directors cut ;)
Steve-O: for being king of the trash brigade!

If I missed anyone, I owe it all to you who helped me lose the few brain cells I had left!

Wow, the bad (or maybe good?) thing to realize is that we were all quite sober when those hiking pictures were taken. This was definitely the most fun that I've ever had on a hike... what a blast hiking with all 8 of your guys! Although, I almost had a heart attack when Dave Bear went up the side of the freakin' fire tower -- twice!

I really want to emphasize again what an amazing time this whole weekend was. I know you keep hearing terms like "pukefest" and "orgy" thrown around but it really wasn't. The partying was actually quite relaxed -- I mean, it started around 6pm with some awesome music and everyone chillin' around Sherpa's house. Everyone -- and I meed everyone -- was just so nice and friendly; I'm not always the most social person and even go through long reclusive periods but I feel totally relaxed and at ease with all you guys.

It was great finally meeting some people like Shiz, Abster, Hui Yeng, Una Dogger, Leaf, Gris, TJ etc. and seeing some people that I haven't seen in a few years like Doug Paul (good to see your leg is healing), Sherpa Kroto (!! it's been 2+ years), Michael J, Skimom and I'm sure I'm forgetting more names. Then it was fun hanging with Giggy, Deb, MEB, Rebecca, Marc "Furry Tongue" Howes, Mats, and oh, jeez, too many people to mention. (We've got to get Ashley on this site by the way!!) It was really just a lot of fun -- I laughed so hard during the weekend that my face hurt and my voice was hoarse.

The music -- wicked good and a lot of fun... a lot of people dancing and it was great to finally actually see The Bluffs and also Funky Freddy in action. There was a good amount of drinking but if that's not your thing it's not like people are like, "drink this or I'll KILL you!" And of course, Dave Bear and MtnMa are shoving our faces with good food. Things got a little freakier as the night wore on but it was all in good fun.

Even the hikes had a little something for everyone. The weather was of course gorgeous but there were a number of groups doing different things: Baldfaces, Grafton Notch bits, Puzzle Mountain, Old Spec or chillin' at the ponds. Even the various groups had different, distinct personality... if you enjoy the perfect intersection of sick, crude, arguably mental, definitely pornographic conversation then our group was for you otherwise there were a lot of people doing a lot of fun things.

All I can say is, what a great weekend! And, it took me 3 times to finally make it out there!? Can't wait till next year although there's going to be a good year of fun things -- for me at least -- to do in the meantime.

Finally, like I said: there were a lot of people that did a lot of work to make this all work and I think Sherpa did a good job mentioning them. But I'd like to say one more time: thanks, Sherpa Kroto. I think you made this weekend the best weekend ever for a lot of people!

I'm going to Banff and Lake O'Hara.

Is there going to be a VFTT gathering at Lake O'Hara one day? Cuz if there is I'm going to be there.

next summer. its official...because I say so.
All right. I'm booking plane tickets, O'Hara bus reservations, campground, wilderness pass right now. Are you bringing a big plastic container of cheeze balls?

I don't think Chroma would fit in there. But an acoustic Funky Freddy with flute accompaniment would for sure.

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for such a great weekend - Special Thanks to everyone who played with me - Mad Townie, Arm, Mike Holt, Sherpakroto, Suzanne, Ed Keenan, Gris, and Joe Farren - for making it such a fun night. Special thanks to SK and Elle for al of their efforts, patience and hospitality, and many thanks to all of you who came to share this memorable evening.

My BIGGEST regret was getting to the party too late to hear Funky Freddie--both nights!!

Thanks Seeker! I regret having gone on so early and having a bunch of VFFT friends miss my set both nights......

I'm there...... maybe we should do something closer to home before next summer, though. :)

Sherp,
I don't think I can say anything that has'nt been said.
Awesome weekend! You Rule Dude!

I basically, red-lined the great gulf in hopes that our paths would cross.
Even left a Chroma sticker on the butress camp site sign for a couple days.
( I think there was a party of 27 in there )

Can't wait till next year!

Steve-o :)

Seems I did miss 2 folks:
Gris! Not only instrumental, but instrumental in so many ways  ! He is the one who found CHROMA and convinced them (and me) to play. We make a good team: he comes up with these lofty ideas: I find ways to get them done!Besides playing and getting CHROMA, he managed to build 2 amps, 2 guitars, and upgrade Mikey's guitar pickups, contributing mightily to some really fine sounds! Thanks Gris - sorry I forgot you (easy to do as you were standing behind me as I typed my thank you's!

DaveBear: always Logger Dave to me. Much thanks for mad grilling that was so prevalent for the entire weekend! Our guests stayed well fed!

Thanks!
