If you are looking to stay south of the Whites, but seeking adventure, you might want to consider Camp Nasty. It's an old hunting cabin in the middle of a swamp that is a unique and interesting place. There is a log book dating back to 1992, over 20 years of entries, plus other things to look at. There is no map to it and it is really only accessible in the winter, unless you're wearing hip waders. There is a winter trail if you can find it or just bushwhack out to it.
All that is asked is that you leave the cabin how you found it. Carry in/carry out, thanks. For anyone into geocaching there is also a cache at the cabin.
We just went out there last Sunday Feb 3. The swamp is frozen, there was only one incident of wet foot. We did not wear light traction, but probably could have.
We made a video if anyone is interested.

great video and sounds like a blast to go check out. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for your comment, it was a blast. We are always amazed when we run across things that most of the public has no clue is there.

Skiguy, yes I'm sure those walls have plenty of secrets gather thoughtout all the years it has been there. That is actually the second cabin, as the first burnt down with the original logbook. The "new" logbook that is in there dates back to 1992...21 years of people leaving comments...you know not many people know it's there. :)

Because some secret places are better kept secret, or else the will be trashed. This treasure looks like it is one of them. I am not saying that you're wrong, but interested on why you posted this? The web is a very open space, and those who find this will likely not respect your wishes. "Once it's on the web, you can't take it back". I hope that this is not the case with Camp Nasty, but I would be concerned.

Camp Nasty and it coordinates are already on the web, we didn’t give away any secrets. There is a large Geocache event going on at Camp Nasty this weekend with a lot of people showing up, weather permitting. This is more of an adventure that we shared incase others are interested to see it on this forum. We have already been contacted by a Geocaching magazine that is doing a story on it and would like to link to our video. Out of respect to the Geocaching community we did not show how to get there. Sorry if this came across as a place that only a hand full of people know about because it is far from that.

With all do respect IMO the OP did a nice job of presenting something a bit different and tastefully used some discretion in potentially revealing any "Big Secrets". All one has to do is a simple Google Search to realize that Camp Nasty is not an episode of Radiers of the Lost Ark. Looking forward to your next adventure WeRmudfun.

A lot of the early geocachers are mad about events being held there and hints to the route being posted :) Most everybody wants to be the last one in to an exclusive club.

If anything the video makes it seem hard to get to and having seen the photos may actually reduce interest in going there - I know their Wantastiquet mine video had that effect on one of my friends :)

There are an amazing number of similar remote shacks in NH, but I wouldn't plan a stay at one without tracking down the owner first.

Thanks skiguy :)

As all the info is obtainable on the Internet, we have removed any references, including the coordinates, from our original post.

Thanks for the tip. As you said the coordinates are posted elsewhere. I have them in my GPS now along with a number of other caches in the near proximity. I noticed today that a lot of folks were there yesterday. I may just skip a mountain climb and head down there soon.:)
