I have only heard radio news briefs on this story.
Rescue workers were summoned at 4 am Friday, July 1. A 33 year old man from Hawthorne (I assume NY) had fallen from a 20' ledge on Slide Mt. (highest Catskill peak). The man was carried out by SAR workers and transported to Benedictine Hospital in Kingston. His back injuries are not life threatening. Initial reports on Friday had mentioned it was on Wittenberg, perhaps that was a confusion from name of the Wittenberg-Cornell-Slide Trail. There has been no further explanation of the 4am time of the cell phone call.
