i was wondering how the trail up to mount lafayette is like lately?

Monday

Monday it was marvelous. All packed out and nice traveling. I wore crampons on Koflachs all the way up and down, but saw others without.

Now after 12 inches of snow on tue-wed snowshoes will be de-riguer. And more coming fri-sat. Wheee!

Cannon reports 16-19" of snow since Tuesday, and weather forecasts continue to predict more for the weekend. The snow has finally ended in Franconia after a couple more inches overnight. I've given up counting. There's lots.

I went up via the Greenleaf Tr on Sunday. The lower part was post-holed pretty bad, but all the way up there was a good hardpack to snowshoe through the new snow on.
