The plan was flexible. Emma didn't have enough time to build her strength and endurance back up for hiking Mount Washington. I was going to join some friends and do Boott Spur, but had another terrible night of not feeling well and little sleep, so cancelled those plans. In the end we wound up driving up the Auto Road to a place a mile or so below the summit called "The Cow Pasture". From there we hiked up over Ball Crag, across the road and Cog tracks to the summit where we were fortunate enough to share in a small ceremony honoring Brad Bradstreet. Brad was the #1 cheerleader for the Mount Washington Observatory and Seek the Peak. I did not know him well, but I know he would have given me the shirt off his back. He was a great man and an inspiration to everyone he met. If I could be half the man he was I'd be a much better person.

It was great to see old friends and new! With the combined efforts of nearly 500 hikers and supporters we raised over $250,000 to support the Obs! Thanks to everyone who made this a great weekend!

Thanks!

Thanks Donna. I thought it was time to document one of her trips up there. With her surgery this spring, and the fact that she will be 13 in a few weeks, it's hard to tell how many more trips like this she'll be making. She continues to amaze us, though!
