The new edition of Randolph Paths, a guide to the Northern Presidentials and the Crescent Range, is out. It's edited by Judy Hudson, Doug Mayer, and Steve Smith. I've just started reading it. (Yes, reading it. I love guide books.) And this one has an 80-some page introduction that includes material on LNT, weather, safety, history, winter travel, and more. Trail descriptions give distance and vertical ascent summaries at the end. The tyvek map (available separately too) has a great feature on the verso side: four panoramic sketches (with all the mountains ID'd) a la Scudder's Guide (but better done) from various lookout points in the RMC area. So how far east, west, south, and north do you think we can see on a clear day from the summit of Adams?
