Park at the AMC Northwest cabin on Mt. Washington Rd at the Mass/Ct border , which is just yards away from the Mt. Frissell trailhead . You'll be only about 15 minutes from the AT and you could go north to sages Ravine campsite or go south to Brassie Brook shelter . There's quite a few other places nearby but these put you right near Frissell .
BTW , if you do Frissell & the Ct. highpoint, go on up to Brace for the best views .

Yeah , in the winter when the barricade is up you have to come in from the Mass. end . The plow uses the AMC lot to turn around in so it's "usually" well cleared . And more often than not , so is the little parking spot for the Frissell trailhead . There's houses almost to the state line so they keep Mt. Washington Rd in great shape .

If you park at the AMC lot head in through the gate , bear left at the cabin & follow the old charcoal road to the AT...about 15 minutes . Hang a left [north] on the AT and it's maybe another 15 minutes and you'll be at the campsite . It's all downhill . It's a lot quicker getting there than it takes to describe it...
