So, I've been doing a bit more digging. Here's what I've found:
You need a special permit to do any special activities in the Chic-Chocs park. I've contacted the customer services supervisor (I'm not sure this is his official title) and he explained that this kind of stuff has been granted permission in the past, although they may not like certain parts of it and may want to modify some of my route. I was also told it's a good thing I'm planning this in advance, and not at the last minute, as they're used to dealing with.
I know who to send my request to (the director of the Chic-Choc park). I won't post his address on this site so that his email won't get harvested, but if someone is interested in knowing more details, pm me.
I'm also in contact with someone that has asked for permits before, hopefully I'll be able to get a bit of an insight into the whole process and the "do's" and "don'ts" of asking for a special permit.
