Unfortunately, Canadian passports cost $87 and are only good for five years (kindof a double-whammy) :(

Yeah, but $87 is less than one months health care insurance premium down here...I would trade!

I think the attitude is catchy. I start feeling angry when I travel in general now because of the anticipation of all the questions, checkpoints, shoe-inspections, etc. I know I shouldn't, but negativity breeds more negativity.

No kidding. I pay almost $700 a month and that's just for me.

I've had a passport since the 60's as a kid, so the new rules don't bother me. What does irk me is that it only applies to people who fly. The last time they caught a would be terrorist at the Canadian border on his way to LAX, he was driving a car, not flying. Ridiculous.
