In my last trip report,
http://www.vftt.org/forums/showthread.php?t=21905
I told how I had just finished climbing Mt. Kearsarge when I was called to Monadnock State Park to help with a rescue.
A young man had slipped on some ice in "Paradise Valley" on the White Dot trail and sustained a leg injury (an apparent fracture). There are over 100 serious leg injuries on Monadnock each hiking season.
The litter evacuation was overseen by Ranger Ed Stark on the mountain working with Park Manager Andrew Zboray at HQ. Over 20 people including rangers, volunteers, hikers, Fish & Game, and Jaffrey ambulance carried out the litter.
