I’m trying to work on some hike planning and need a little help. I have a few road questions and would appreciate any information.

1. Jefferson Notch Road & Mt. Clinton Road

I know, we’ve been hit hard this winter with snow and the roads are probably going to open later than normal. Can anybody tell me what is “normal” for Jefferson Notch Road and Mt. Clinton Road?

2. Jericho Road

Also, Jericho Road in Jackson is not listed on the Forest Road Status listing. I know there are some private residences along part of the road. Does anybody know if the road is kept plowed to the trailhead in the winter?

The Jefferson Notch Road may not open until well into May. The problem is, on top of the heavy snow pack, the road tends to wash out easily making it not passable. So after the snow melts we wait for the repair crews to do their thing. Can't wait for it to open myself.

The goal is to get the Jefferson notch road open by Memorial Day. That doesnt always happen as the north end tends to get washed out severely most springtimes and the state waits to fix it as long as possible. The cog end is south facing and doesnt tend to wash out as badly so if you are coming from the south you have a better chance.
Mt Clinton road doesnt wash out but does get snowmobile traffic which tends to pack down the snow and make it melt slower. It used to be plowed by the cog for a few years up until a few years ago so past experience is not going to reflect what will happen now. I still expect that it would be open by Memorial day as is a route to the cog and gets some sun.
