Just a heads up to hikers heading out this weekend.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Tammy will be blowing through the area on Friday Night - Saturday. This system will be accompanied by HEAVY torrential rains and gusty winds.

With it.. a Cold front from the west with VERY CHILLY air will be sweeping through.

Please investigate any and all stream crossings you may encounter and plan accordingly. Expect them to be high.

Also... expect Alpine zones to be slick as west surfaces are likely to quickly freeze with a coat of glaze ice.

Sunday.. another system will approach the region with a further shot of cold air. Expect Rime on the higher summits.

The weather report for maine on wcsh6 for saturday just said 1-3 inches of rain on saturday. Sounds like a really wet hike.
