You can find a map in the NH AT book, or the National Geographic-AMC map covers Smarts as well. Here's some more info from the DOC website. The last time I was there was July 2003. I went across Moose Mountain and up the Lambert Ridge Trail. It rained the whole time. I stayed in the old firewardens cabin (completely enclosed) and just before t-storms hit, climbed the firetower for a so-so view (attached). I went down the Doan trail, which was a river that day. I'd been up years earlier when I remember the view as better. If you're staying in the cabin, it will be busy on a Saturday night. Nice mountain. Especially when you can see the views from up there.

Does anyone have any info on this mountain?
I'm still reading from the White Mountain Guide 24th edition, and I don't have any topo's of this region handy.

Thanks in advance, Steve

I was up there two weeks ago! The Ranger Trail up from the south is very easy. Lambert's Ridge is a bit tougher. J Trail from the north is also quite easy! The summit is completely wooded, so the tower offers the only good views, but they are spectacular!
Cube Mtn (to the north) has no tower, but plenty of open ledges with great views!
