What do you have in your backyard?

Good Morning! We got a good deal so snow overnight--maybe 8-10"--haven't been out yet. All our major network TV stations are off the air here. Now for the clean-up & then some playing in the snow.

Looks like about a foot of heavy snow in Bethel, ME. Some drifting to 2 feet or so.

14 to 16 inches at 1400 feet at Gorham/Randolph line. The early snow was wet and packed down a bit due to temps at or near freezing, expect that up a bit higher it was cold enough to keep the packing down. Some drifting visible but not significant (I.E. my traditional driveway drift wasnt too bad)

Just remember folks, the base underneath was almost nonexistent so there is a lot of underbrush under that nice fluffy stuff! -

Any ADK locals know how much new snow is on the ground?

Was thinking of hiking Santanoni on Saturday....

I called the mountaineer on thursday and they had 8 inches plus on top of the icy consolidated stuff that was already there. They were expecting another 6-8 inches last night in Keene Valley. I know I am heading up there for sure this weekend. God I love the snow.

Happy Hiking
Justin

early reports from what i've seen are anywhere from 10-15 inches in the ADK peaks.... lower range of snow is of course at lower elevations....

i'm heading up to Saranac winter carnival this weekend (probably not much hiking) BUT i'll let everyone know what i see on the ground and hear from the locals....

if anyone is out on the trails on tuesday, i'll be FINALLY!! skiing UW to Flowed lands.....

get out and enjoy the snow
