I will be there, though not camping. I'd love to hike one day and downhill ski the next!

I'm tempted by the idea of skiing Okemo, having only skied the bunny hill there once 8 years ago, but can I convince anyone to ski nearby Killington or Pico instead?*

I'd be up for most hikes, though I'd be partial to any NEHH's I haven't done yet. :D

*I have a pass for K/P, but Okemo would be $72.

I will let you in a nicely kept secret in VT. Ascutney. At the top you can see the lift lines at Okemo, ski down and get on the chair lift almost without a loss of momentum. Just mind the porcupines.

I loved the maple comments in this thread. However, everyone knows the self proclaimed Maple Capitol is in the Northeast Kingdom.

I am interested in an Ellen, Abraham, Killington hiking package. I will tract developments.

D'oh! Good point on the pass blackout, Seema. In that case, with apologies to KenG, line me up for skiing at not-Killington, because if I have to pay anyway, I'd rather try someplace different.

Maybe you can ski Sugarbush, and give Seema & Brian a ride up so they can bag Ellen and Abe from the ski area!

***uh, did i just volunteer you?

You're leaving Emily at home? And No grape juice shots?  I guess I understand ;) As for pancakes - I'm sure I can round up some syrup!

Also when you say us...who exactly are you referring to? It wasn't you and Brian that were sharing that bag was it? :D :p

Sorry

We means Spencer and Maddi. I forgot the computer automatically logs our computer onto PEAK_BGR. I assumed the M- at the end of the post would point to me. I know never assume. If you're willing to have us we are willing to be there (Brian will be there too I am sure!)

to ne honest, not too familar with VT - anyone where an hour or so drive from steve's that would have ice climbing, top roping is fine. smuggs is too far, but there has to be some local flows somewhere. this could be a fun alternative than hiking - for top ropes, no real experiecne needed.

I am going to look more into it, but though someone here might know.

that's where I grew up! good ole St. Johnsbury, baby! Also, my neighbor taps my trees in the spring( 80 taps) so I get as much syrup as I want, within reason :D

I'm not sure if I can come that weekend, probably not overnight, but if I come in the morning for the hiking, etc, I'll bring a gallon of syrup :D

Ok, now the "M" is making sense too!!! I was wondering.....then again, I'm not reall smart.

And for the record, bring anybody and everybody - they're all welcome! I'd like to think that this is central enough where we can get a lot of people to make the drive over from NY.

Hey,

I'm planning on being out that weekend for thebackpacker.com's FYAO so I may come in later or earlier depending. I may skip FYAO depending...

I'm down with some ice climbing at smuggler's notch. I may be convinced to set a TR for those who are newbs. I don't mind the 2 1/2 hour drive especially if it's carpooled.

Good God Giggy - lose the avatar, I'm having nightmares!!!

and you call yourself a rock-n-roller................

Life has often tried to stretch me
But the rope always went slack
And now that I've a pile
I'll go down to the Chelsea
I'll walk in on my feet
But I'll leave there on my back

I'm going
Where streams of whiskey are flowing  :D

If I'd be welcome I'd like to come :) Any dates planned?

I can bring drums, guitars or other instruments for the playing ;)

And beer...

And I'd be up for hiking, skiing, ice climbing (wouldn't mind going to Smuggs, but it'd have to be an early start - long approaches to some climbs. I'll check my guide for other close climbs), etc...

Cool? :D
