Thanks! So, I should flip off another to Killington then. Consider it done!!

So, you've never been to K-mart? If you like bumps...!! And steeps, and, er, New Yorkers...;)

Been there... usually early or late skiing, though. But, haven't been there in many years. Alison is heading over for pre-season race training the week before Thanksgiving.

My point has been that we should investigate group pricing -- who knows, if it only takes 10 of us to bring the price down, we could easily have that many for a day ski...

Hey Everyone

Who's in for sunrise at the summit of Killington, saturday morning of the VT Gathering ?

Begin civil twilight 6:49 a.m.
Sunrise 7:21 a.m.

Please, if someone can chime in for the trail info, so we can set up at departure time, that would be nice. I guess somewhere around 3am, but I'm not sure...

That means no partying friday night (or no sleep at all).

My spouse and I are interested, big time. We'll know for sure when the date gets close.

What interests me the most is the music making. Did I read this thread right? FF, Gris and MattC will all be there? Any drummers?

The true summit of Killington, if I recall correctly, does not have an eastern view. You will have to go down the little connector trail to the top of the Gondola at the ski area to see in that direction (or stand on tiptoes to look over the foliage and through the bottom old fire tower and its myriad antennas).

Only if someone loads my sleeping bag (w/ me in it) onto the gondola... :D

Yeah right.
You'll take some pictures for the rest of us won't you?

Hey Timmus;
I think Michael may be right about the lack of easterly view on Killington, but there is a great east facing ledge on the summit of Shrewsbury Peak which has a summit about 2 miles up the trail and is south of Killington on the Long Trail by about six miles or so, the two combined might make a nice thru-hike!
:D
The sunrises over the Killington area are indeed beautiful, I see them everymorning on my way to work!
