You probably don't even realize how partisan your post is. Spilt waste from the AMC, no problem, the Cog, plant killers.

Not the way that I read Old Eric’s post, in which he seems to place the AMC huts, Cog, and AR on a par for concentrating and disposing of human waste in the alpine.

He clearly states that without the Cog flowers would be growing in place of the tracks, hence the Cog is a bad thing. While he sings the praise of the AMCs capacity to consolidate human waste. You really can't see that in his post?

I read that Old Eric was implying that without the Cog and AR concentrating human waste at the summit, the waste would be all over the summit cone, which would impact the alpine vegetation in a negative way, like if the huts were not there to concentrate and remove human waste. But it appears that the post has been removed, so unless Old Eric provides more specifics, we are stuck with different interpretations.
