Sad to report another death on Mt. Washington

I had just heard this...very sad!

Knowing little of the circumstances, I will post the weather from the past few days. This morning the summit was glistening with fresh ice after a recent warm spell...sadly and tragically it looked very slick...

Wow, first I've heard of this. How sad. Washington sure looked cold and blustery on Saturday, that is for sure.

On a personal note, Dr. Walczak was a great person. Once he knew you liked to hike, his eyes just lit up, he got this big smile and could talk forever, oh the hiking stories! It really was a passion to him. So sad to hear this news.

This sure has been a lousy month or two for physicans and hiking. A retired radiologist, Wade Burnett, fell to his death recently as he was climbing Mt Whitney. His obituary is here.

condolences to family and freinds...sounds like a he was a special person in his community

Very tragic. The fact that this happened so close to Thanksgiving only adds to the tragedy.
