Periwinkle - challenging this bunch (just off the trail with beers in hand) to use the outdoor shower might be a frightening proposition!
But it definitely would have a lot of entertainment value !!! ;)

I give my vote for Brador, Or Molson XXX.

On a different note. How far would Woodstock be from the campsite. I think I found the perfect little Friday dinner spot. It's called Landau Grill. They have a nice deck for a larger group. The deck is covered just in case of foul weather. We ate there on sunday and it was quite good. The prices weren't unreasonable either. Just a thought.

Woodstock would be about 30-40 minutes from Woodland valley. Although the Landau may fit the bill, I think there will be something closer. I know TeeJay has done some scouting in Phoenicia. Maybe I can get down 28 a little farther west. I think there is a nice place that fits the bill about 10 minutes west, but the name escapes me. I think it's called Jakes or something like that.
Also there is a restaurant called Al's that might just do the trick, right on 28 near where woodland valley road come out.
I don't think the food matters much, its the company, isn't it?
Tom

Ah, but Landau is the place with the smoked trout cakes.

Worth the miles to Woodstock. I think it's about a 20 minute juant from the campsite.
It may be best that Friday night dinner should be at a good place that takes reservations for a group our size. Woodstock can be crowded on a Friday night.

More Beer!!

Hey Harry..... I don't think I'll manage your Gold Member status.....66 beers Whew!. The customs guy must have been in a good mood. :)
I'll bring down a few Canadian cold ones though.

Anyplace to eat will be fine. It is definatly the company and the conversation that makes the night.

I'll be there and will try to get there on Thursday and stay through the weekend.

AlG and Bubba,

I'll have extra space. I just bought a 6 person 3+ season tent. More than enough room!

I have to put my vote in for Labatts Blue. I became very fond of this beer when I was living up along the Canadian border years ago. The smoked trout cakes sound good too. I can't wait.

I'm there!!

TeeJay--how great to have a Gathering in the Catskills! Thanks for all your work on this. Chili anyone? :)

Dave, thanks for the heads up--I am there. And Bubba's coming too!!

Oh no!

I'm really bummed out...I've got something else booked that weekend. Teejay...sounds like you've got a good time planned. SOMEDAY I'll make it down to the Catskills. Have fun!

I am putting this on the calendar- would like try a first event. But having an eerie feeling I am forgeting other plans.

Well, it looks like I'll have take the Rollin' Rack (a.k.a, Doghouse, Mini-Rig, Trailer Trash Heaven, Icebox) out to the Catskills, even if I end up towing it myself. And THAT would be interesting. Anyone seen the promos of Paris Hilton towing an Airstream? That's basically me at the wheel. I'm sure I can find some nice burly fella to back it into the campsite for me.

And Harry just uped the ante. I'll have to bring 67 beers. Maybe then I can get the promise avatar of my head cropped onto Beyonce's body. :D

It might have been the Dr. Magils, but I forgot all about that. Send me a picture of your head...

Peri,

I thought it was Britney's body . . . :)

You're right, Seema! It was Britney! :) And I didn't even have too much to drink that night.

Hhmmm, now I'll have to look for a head shot from when I had blonde hair, Darren. Maybe that will make it ever so slightly believable. Right.... :)

Made my western trip plans definite for 8/19 thru 9/5 and my Maine AT trip is scheduled for 9/26 thru 10/3. That leaves me open for the weekend to attend THE GATHERING. So count me in! I really hope nothing gets in the way of my plan to attend this event. It will be nice to see Periwinkle up on her turf a month sooner when I finish my White Mt. peaks and then she is coming down to my neck of the woods.

Me neither! And, I think from everything I've read I better show up with the portable shower just for entertainment value.

Oh, and just out of curiosity, am I going to be tortured in your "neck of the woods" if I don't make a pizza delivery in August? :D
